APPROVAL OF THE LAURA BUSH FOUNDATION FOR AMERICA'S LIBRARIES GRANT PROPOSAL TO THE LAURA BUSH FOUNDATION FOR AMERICA'S LIBRARIES FOR BOOKER MIDDLE SCHOOL MEDIA CENTER
Description
COMPETITIVE: Grant funds of $5,600 will allow the Booker Middle School Media Center to purchase approximately 80 Playaway devices and their accompanying books. These devices will be used by struggling, reluctant and below level readers to improve their comprehension, fluency, vocabulary and decoding skills. This activity will contribute to the Booker Middle School improvement plan by contributing to the level of learning gains and reading proficiency among our students.
Recommendation
That the School Board of Sarasota County approve the Laura Bush Foundation for America's Libraries grant proposal.
